Alex Lawless was born in Llwynypia, Wales on 5th February 1983.
He began his career with Welsh Premier League side Ton Pentre before joining Fulham as a trainee.
After being released from Craven Cottage he had a spell with Torquay United, and then joined Forest Green Rovers in August 2006. Lawless went on to make over one hundred senior appearances and scored nine goals at The New Lawn.
The former Welsh under-21 international moved to York during the summer, and has since offered increased creativity and a wealth of class into their midfield.
Off the pitch he is noted as a keen artist and his work has received praise from art fanatic and former England wicketkeeper and Forest Green supporter Jack Russell. 'Flawless', as he is known by York fans, is especially proud of his portrait of Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
