Andy Ferrell was born in Newcastle on 9th January 1984, and joined York after a couple of seasons at Kidderminster Harriers.

He began his career as a trainee with his hometown club Newcastle United. From there he moved on to Watford in 2004 before helping Hereford United reclaim their Football League status two years later.

A combative midfielder who initially earned a starting place after coming to KitKat Crescent in the summer. But the arrival of Chris Carruthers from Oxford United saw him surrender his left-sided position, and he has since been unable to force his way back into the side in his more favoured central role.

However, could still prove a crucial player in the Minstermen's promotion bid.
