Former England under-20 international left-back or midfielder Chris Carruthers was born on 19th August 1983 in Kettering, Northamptonshire.
Began his career with Northampton Town, during which time he had subsequent loan spells at AFC Hornchurch and hometown club Kettering Town.
Another loan period followed at Bristol Rovers, where he impressed enough to earn himself a permanent deal. Carruthers soon became a regular at the Memorial Stadium and made in excess of a hundred senior appearances.
He joined Oxford United in July 2008, and was loaned out to Crawley Town at the start of the following season before then moving to York in a similar deal. And such was his contribution that he was rewarded with a full eighteen-month contract at KitKat Crescent earlier this month.
Off the pitch, Chris has trained as a plumber and is also a keen student of the guitar.
