Michael Gash - Profile

He became the club's biggest purchase for a number of years when joining York City in a £55,000 transfer from Ebbsfleet United in July 2009.

That followed intense negotiations and a couple of subsequent online votes from Fleet shareholders after he had been tracked for several weeks by York boss Martin Foyle.

Gash actually began his career with Cambridge City before joining their neighbours United in 2006. But with opportunities restricted he rejoined his former club twelve months later and went on to score 27 goals.

That alerted the attention of Ebbsfleet boss Liam Daish, who was rewarded as Gash signed for him and finished last season as leading scorer with thirteen goals.
