York City included on loan striker Adam Boyes on the bench for the visit of Blue Square Premier leaders Oxford United to KitKat Crescent.

Boyes left the Minstermen to join Championship newcomers Scunthorpe United in the summer, a move which helped fuel Martin Foyle's subsequent spending spree.

But the 18-year-old has now returned to KitKat Crescent for a month to ironically provide cover for injured £55,000 signing Michael Gash.

His last appearance for York was against Stevenage Borough in the FA Trophy final at Wembley Stadium in May.

Boyes immediately replaced Richard Pacquette amongst the substitutes to face current leaders Oxford.
