Leading scorer Richard Brodie must become accustomed with referees being influenced by home crowds according to his manager Martin Foyle.

Brodie collected his ninth booking of the season in the excellent weekend victory at Cambridge United and now stands just one more caution away from a two-match ban.

“I thought the officials were very, very poor in the first half and I don’t know what they deem to be a caution nowadays," Foyle told The Press. "I also thought he was going to send Brodes off when he was coming off the pitch.

“He has had a fantastic season, but I’ve told him that the crowd at home will love him but at away grounds they will hate him because he’s a good player. He’s got to grow up and learn how to handle that.

“He’s a young boy still on a learning curve and so what if he gets a two-match ban? We’ve got Richard Pacquette flying and ready to come in, and he held the ball up well when he came on.”
