York City striker Richard Brodie suffered a foot injury while playing for England 'C' against Poland under-23s on Tuesday night.
But the Gateshead-born marksman, who has already scored seventeen times this season, hopes to be fit to face AFC Wimbledon at the weekend.
Brodie had a goal disallowed and also sent a header narrowly wide as the visitors eventually came out on top 2-1 in Poznan.
Chris Holroyd of Cambridge United and Kidderminster Harriers' Matthew Barnes-Homer, who replaced Brodie midway through the second-half, were both on target.
Brodie told The Press: "They had two big, strong, horrible centre-backs who kicked me all the way through the game. They should have both been sent off as I was fouled about eight or nine times."
