York City have dropped out of the play-offs following the confirmed expulsion of Chester City from the Conference.
The Minstermen have moved down two places into sixth position, a point behind both Luton Town and Kettering Town, while still three points clear of AFC Wimbledon in seventh.
Meanwhile, leading goalscorer Richard Brodie loses one of his two hat-tricks this season following the demise of Chester. Brodie scored all three goals when York beat them 3-2 at Bootham Crescent back in November.
The Gateshead-born marksman now sees his personal total for the campaign reduced to 24.
