York City first-year professional striker Michael Emmerson has been loaned out to UniBond Premier Division club Ossett Town.

“Emmo has gone to Ossett for a month and, after that, we will be looking to get him out again," manager Martin Foyle told The Press.

"He needs to play men’s football and knows where he stands."

Foyle was also hoping to finalise a permanent move for Simon Russell to Tamworth, where he has been on loan for the last three months.

However, the future of Craig Nelthorpe is still to be resolved. He was due back at the club on New Year's Day after a loan spell at Barrow.

“We have virtually agreed things with Tamworth over Simon Russell, but I haven’t spoken to Craig Nelthorpe and David Bayliss at Barrow yet," said Foyle.

"One or two more might go out on loan during January so we can get a couple more players in and we also need to keep everybody fit."
