York City boss Martin Foyle said that he was 'delighted' to come away from the Glass World Stadium with a point following a 1-1 draw at Histon.

However, the home side were indebted to a dubious free-kick award just before the break after York's Luke Graham was penalised, despite Histon's Nathaniel Knight-Percival appearing to back into him.

Gareth Gwillim immediately crossed from the subsequent free-kick for Bradley Hudson-Odoi to equalise.

Ben Purkiss had earlier handed the visitors, who were chasing a tenth successive league victory, the lead with his first goal of the campaign - an excellent finish from the edge of the area.

"I personally didn't think it was a free-kick but you've still got to defend it," Foyle told BBC Radio York.

"And we simply gave too many free kicks away.

"The referee was penalising my centre-halves every time they jumped.

"We've had a fantastic run of wins and the lads are disappointed at it coming to an end, but we're still unbeaten over a long period in the league," he added.

"And I'm actually delighted with the point.

"This is not an easy place to come. It was a hard-fought game. Histon have worked very hard and put us under pressure for long periods."
