York City manager Martin Foyle failed to be impressed by his side during their 2-0 victory over Bedworth United in their FA Cup fourth qualifying round tie at KitKat Crescent.

Strikers Michael Rankine and Richard Brodie were both on target against their part-time opponents, who missed a great opportunity to really test the home side when having a first-half penalty saved by Michael Ingham.

Foyle told BBC Radio York: "There was quite a few disappointing performances today but as I said after the game the object was just to get into round one.

"I'm not making excuses. I didn't think we were sharp enough, quick enough.

"Our set pieces weren't good enough and general play was quite poor," he continued.

"But they have had a hard week and you've got to take that into consideration sometimes.

"If you don't start the game out of the blocks it's very hard to pick it up.
"There were a lot of things that weren't right.

"It's a wake-up call but again we're unbeaten at home and we're into the next round."

The Minstermen were rewarded with another home draw against League Two strugglers Crewe Alexandra in the first round proper.
