York City have signed former Carlisle United striker Kevin Gall on a permanent contract until the end of the season after he impressed during a recent short-term deal.

The one-time Darlington forward scored his first goal for his new club last weekend after appearing as a second-half substitute during the 4-1 victory over Hayes & Yeading United.

Meanwhile, winger Craig Nelthorpe has moved to Luton Town on loan until the end of the campaign after the completion of a recent loan spell at Barrow.

Nelthorpe has failed to establish himself at KitKat Crescent after arriving from Oxford United last summer.

Hatters manager Richard Money told their official website: "We're grateful for York for letting us have a look at him in the reserves on Wednesday and he was desperately keen to come here.

"I've known about him for a while when he was at Doncaster and I was managing Walsall and he was always one I thought 'there might be a player there'.

"York sent out a circular last week notifying clubs of his availability and he came down to play for us on Wednesday and did well. "
