Kettering Town v York City

By Steve Jones
Friday, 5th February 2010
Midfielder Neil Barrett and the country's top goalscorer Richard Brodie are set to be recalled for York City's vital trip to fellow promotion hopefuls Kettering Town this weekend.

Barrett had to make do with a place on the substitutes bench for the midweek draw at Histon after missing the previous game against Corby Town with a thigh injury.

Meanwhile, Brodie is available again after serving a two-match ban following his tenth caution of the campaign against Newport County recently.

“Neil Barrett has been very, very unlucky not to be in the team, " manager Martin Foyle told The Press. Neil Barrett

“He took a bang on the thigh prior to the Corby game and, even though he declared himself fit on Monday afternoon, I made my decision to protect him and go with what we did at Histon because we have the squad to be able to do that.

“But Neil’s been flying and it will be a big decision for Kettering and I know the players won’t always agree with the ones we make."

Goalkeeper Michael Ingham is also fit despite taking a knock against Histon on Tuesday evening.

“He hurt his chest, but has had an injection and looked fine yesterday, which is important," added Foyle.

“Everybody else is fit and I’m so pleased to have a full squad at this stage of the season.

“The competition is fantastic and that makes my decisions a little harder.”

Kettering haven't won at home for more than four months, but they still remain in the play-offs and are certain to present a stern challenge.

Anthony Elding, Exodus Geohaghan, Damien Spencer, Lee Fowler, Francis Green and Moses Ashikodi have all recently left the club, who are now under the leadership of former Arsenal and QPR goalkeeper Lee Harper.

He was hoping to recall Trinidad and Tobago international midfielder Andre Boucaud from a broken nose, while joint top-scorer Jean-Paul Marna shoud also be fit.
