York City have snapped up well-travelled striker Leon Constantine, who was released by Hereford United at the end of last season after netting six times in 35 appearances at Edgar Street.

The 32-year-old has played for more than a dozen clubs since starting out at non-league Edgware Town, where his excellent scoring record was later recaptured during spells at Southend United and Port Vale

He has also spent time with Millwall, Brentford, Peterborough United, Torquay United, Leeds United and Northampton Town, while also having loans at Leyton Orient, Partick Thistle, Oldham Athletic and Cheltenham Town.

The Minstermen have also re-registered youth team coach Steve Torpey as a player after the 39-year-old already previously featured for them on a couple of past occasions.
