Out-of-favour York City winger Craig Nelthorpe has requested a move away from KitKat Crescent.

Nelthorpe (22) wants to go out on loan after failing to make a single start since arriving at the club from Oxford United in the summer.

His brief career at KitKat Crescent has been rather a turbulent one after he was sent-off at Halifax during pre-season before hours later being arrested alongside Michael Ingham, Michael Gash and Michael Rankine following a disturbance outside Clifford Street’s Subway outlet.

Manager Martin Foyle told the Press: “I had planned to play Craig Nelthorpe in the Bedworth match, but he asked for a move before the game so that’s why he didn’t start. I gave the players who want to be at the club a go instead.

“We’ve sent a circular out to other clubs informing them of his availability and a couple of Blue Square North clubs have shown an interest, so we will see what happens.”
