York City travel to Premiership side Stoke City in the FA Cup third round this weekend and will be cheered on by over four thousand of their supporters.
Manager Martin Foyle has the luxury of a near full-strength squad to select from with only defenders Alan O'Hare and Djoumin Sangare expected to be ruled out through injury.
“I don’t know whether the players will be daunted by the occasion and we will learn a lot about them in front of a big crowd," Foyle told The Press.
“All (assistant manager) Andy Porter and I can do is pass on our experience of playing against the top players.
“At the end of the day, it’s 11 against 11 and we’ve got to make sure we get off to a good start. I don’t want the players to suddenly find their confidence when we’re 2-0 down.
“We need to get among them from the first whistle because anything can happen over 90 minutes then.”
Stoke boss Tony Pulis was considering resting the majority of his first team but was still set to include at least four full internationals.
The likes of Amdy Faye (Senegal), Danny Collins (Wales), Ricardo Fuller (Jamaica), Mamady Sidibe (Mali), Salif Diao (Senegal), Glenn Whelan (Republic of Ireland) and Rory Delap (Republic of Ireland) could all be involved.
Meanwhile, ex-Manchester United centre-back Ryan Shawcross (suspended) and fellow defender Andy Wilkinson (injured) are both set to miss out.
And the wily Pulis certainly wasn't taking the threat of the Minstermen likely ahead of the contest.
"This is their cup final, their big day out, so they'll want to come here and put on a show against a Premier League club," he told Stoke's official site.
"We'll be looking to get going as quickly as we can and get the game won, but we know that it won't be easy if we are not at our best.
"On any given day, anyone can perform over the maximum and if the other side doesn't perform, then who knows what can happen.
"That's what makes the FA Cup so special, and York will come here believing that they can create a major upset at our expense.
"They've been on a remarkable run recently and they're very strong and powerful up front with the lad Brodie a real threat."
He added: "There is also some quality there too and that really emphasises that there is quality in depth in the English game.
"York are bringing over 4,000 fans here, so they are going to create quite an atmosphere, but I'm hoping that we can show them our fantastic support here at the Britannia Stadium and make it a great occasion."
