York City have appointed their existing Commercial Manager Ross Potter as the club's new General Manager.
The 33-year-old began his new role earlier this week and will be searching for improvements relating to all areas of the club's business.
“I am very much looking forward to the challenge ahead and working with the Board, our staff and supporters to ensure the Club is running effectively and efficiently," he told the club's official website.
"I have received a lot of support from my colleagues since my appointment was announced internally and I feel very positive about the future of the Club.
"I have already direct contact with supporters and local businesses in my role as commercial manager and I am looking forward to developing these relationships further.”
Chairman Jason McGill commented: “The Board of directors decided to create the new position of General Manager at the Club to help to improve our business operations and the service we provide to our supporters.
"Ross will be in charge of our team of staff and will be reporting directly to the Board and implementing our business strategy.
"This is a great opportunity for Ross to make a positive difference at the Club.”
