York City are continuing to pursue the services of Histon's 25-year-old striker Danny Wright.
Local media sources in Cambridgeshire are reporting that the Minstermen have made another approach over the past week for the 6' 2" marksman, who has scored six times in fourteen appearances this season.
Stutes chairman Tony Roach, who doesn't believe that a move to their Blue Square Premier rivals would boost his career, had a meeting with Wright at the weekend to discuss a new deal.
"I had a chat with Danny Wright on Saturday and said to him that I don't particularly want him to go anywhere," Roach told the Cambridge News. "We haven't got to sell him, and I made that clear to him. York have been in for him quite regularly and they came in for him last week.
"But I don't think he's particularly interested in going somewhere like York. That wouldn't really benefit him career-wise.
"He's a local lad and he's doing quite nicely playing for us and having a job, but he'd have to give up his job to go full-time up there.
"Danny can go on a free at the end of the season, so really we want to be tying him up - I'm sure his heart is at Histon."
He added: "Danny's injured at the moment and we still don't know if he'll need an operation, so we want him to get fit and get back in the first team."
