York City have been handed a home tie with League Two strugglers Crewe Alexandra in the FA Cup first round.
The tie thus pairs the Minstermen with the club they famously beat at Wembley Stadium in the Division Three play-off final in May 1993.It also witnesses a return to the club for former York striker Clayton Donaldson, who has recently resumed action after breaking his fibula in August.
Other interesting matches in the opening round see Leeds United travelling to Oldham Athletic, Charlton Athletic at Blue Square North outfit Northwich Victoria, Southampton visiting Bristol Rovers and tiny Paulton Rovers entertaining former semi-finalists Norwich City.
Ties will be played over the weekend of 7th-8th November.
