York City were second best for long stages but still extended their unbeaten run to twelve games with a hard-fought 0-0 draw at AFC Telford United.

Michael Ingham Goalkeeper Michael Ingham twice saved after the break and centre-back David McGurk was also forced to clear off the line.

The opening half saw precious little in the way of chances although Ashley Chambers had a shot deflected wide for the visitors on six minutes.

Home striker Steve Jones headed over in reply and substitute Nathan Rooney did likewise from Ashley Cain's cross just before the break.

Following the restart McGurk soon had to head off the line from a sliced effort from Daniel Preston before Ingham denied Phil Trainer and Sean Newton was wide from the rebound.

Andy Brown also curled behind for the hosts, while Matty Blair couldn't manage to force in substitute Danny Pilkington's cross after goalkeeper Ryan Young had spilled the ball.

Telford again went close, however, with Cain prodding wide after being put through by Jay Smith before then drilling straight at Ingham.

Patrick McLaughlin surged forward and shot wide for the visitors towards the end but their opponents still appeared more likely to win it as Cain screwed across goal and Preston headed over a late Newton delivery.
