High-flying York City continued their challenge on the leaders with a convincing 4-2 victory against Hayes & Yeading United at the Kingfield Stadium.
The visitors appeared to have the contest well and truly sewn up after scoring twice inside the opening twenty minutes.
Firstly Jason Walker curled in his fifteenth goal of the season from a 23-yard free-kick after Curtis Ujah was booked for bringing down James Meredith.
Five minutes later Jon Challinor [right] fired his first goal for the club from the edge of the area after Scott Kerr had provided the assist.
But the visitors then lost leading scorer Walker to an Achilles injury and saw their lead reduced on the stroke of half-time, when Tom Cadmore was left to head back Ryan Crockford's corner and Louie Soares nodded in.
The Minstermen regained control after the break and Andre Boucaud tried a couple of efforts either side of Mark Bentley drilling straight at Michael Ingham.
York midfielder Patrick McLaughlin soon had a fierce drive taken by keeper Steven Arnold in return before adding a third goal just past the hour after substitute Adriano Moké had invited Ashley Chambers to cross.
Further opportunities presented themselves as Chambers, Boucaud, Kerr and Challinor each tried their luck before Moké weaved himself more magic and Chambers struck home his seventh goal of the season.
A push on the dangerous Moké inside the area should then have really brought the visitors a penalty, while Soares called Ingham into action at the opposite end and Luke Williams also hit a post.
And after York winger Matty Blair had seen a last-minute shot helped over by keeper Arnold, their opponents replied with Williams finding the net from the edge of the area in the final act of the contest.
