Midfielder Andre Boucaud claimed his first-ever York City goal against his former club as the rampant visitors cruised to a very impressive 5-1 victory against Kettering Town at Nene Park.
An outstanding opening half from the Minstermen witnessed them surging into a 4-1 interval lead as Portuguese-born midfielder Adriano Moké similarly netted his first goal for the club. Meanwhile, leading scorer Jason Walker also struck twice to take his overall tally to five goals in just four games.
York began their domination midway through the first period when Walker robbed Marcus Kelly and delivered for Trinidad & Tobago international Boucaud [right] to drill a low shot under goalkeeper Laurie Walker.
Less than a minute later the visitors went further ahead as Walker superbly volleyed in Moké's deep cross after good work down the left with Patrick McLaughlin.
Ace marksman Walker duly added his second of the evening on the half-hour when turning sharply after skipper Chris Smith headed on Lanre Oyebanjo's long throw.
And Walker was also involved after combining with Ashley Chambers on 39 minutes as the impressive Moké made it 4-0 with another confident finish.
Kettering managed to claw a goal back just before the break when Leon McKenzie got on the end of a cross from Moses Ashikodi and forced the ball home.
But the visitors went desperately close to a fifth just before the hour-mark with Moké driving against an upright.
Both substitute Jamie Reed and Smith could have still extended their advantage before fellow replacement Danny Pilkington fired home just a couple of minutes into his debut following excellent work from Chambers in added time.
Their crushing victory moved stylish York into third place in the table ahead of their visit to one of their main title rivals, Fleetwood Town, on Friday evening.
