York City eased through to the second round of the FA Trophy with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Solihull Moors in their replay at Damson Park.
Skipper Chris Smith scored on his return to the side and Matty Blair [right] added two more after the break to clinch a trip to Salisbury City next month.
Manager Gary Mills made a couple of changes whilst adopting a new formation which featured three central defenders and Smith in an uncharacteristic holding midfield role.
However, the former Tamworth defender soon showed his versatility when chesting down Scott Kerr's cross and drilling home the first goal on thirteen minutes.
The Minstermen continued to look in command after a floodlight problem delayed the start of the second period.
However, Northern Ireland Under-21 international Paddy McLaughlin released Blair on the hour to increase their advantage before the ex-Kidderminster Harriers man volleyed a superb third from James Meredith's 76th minute cross.
Substitute Danny Pilkington should then have really added a fourth late on but his side were always convincing winners.
